The 5 W's of Kaizen

Of course, there is a reason behind choosing Augmented Reality. Moreover, there should already be a vision of how the research will be approached. For this, the philosophy of Kaizen has been utilized. Below, you can find the questions and their respective answers.

What is the research team going to do?
The chosen technology is Augmented Reality (AR). This will be investigated in the context of a manufacturing company named Tobroco Machines from Oisterwijk. This company manufactures articulated and wheel loaders (agricultural machinery). The research will focus on whether AR can be implemented in Tobroco's assembly line.

Relevant technical considerations for implementing Augmented Reality (AR) in manufacturing include selecting suitable hardware and software, ensuring robust connectivity, and addressing security and privacy concerns. Integration with existing systems, optimization for performance and scalability, and compliance with regulations are also vital aspects. Additionally, user training, ergonomic design, and cost analysis play crucial roles in the successful adoption of AR technology.

Why Augmented Reality?
AR seems interesting to us because, in our view, it is less familiar than VR. Many people are familiar with VR from certain games or major companies like Apple and Sony. AR, on the other hand, is only known from Pokémon Go and is often less understood. We find this intriguing and want to learn more about how it works, what is required for its implementation, how and where it can be applied in the business world, and what the impact and consequences of this technological change may be. For example, how much additional profit does it generate? What is the ROI? What adjustments are needed, and so on.

Where to gather information?
The sources to be utilized will encompass various websites, ChatGPT, and employees of Tobroco itself. Aaron van Rijn previously completed an internship and worked during holidays at Tobroco, thereby maintaining valuable connections within the company who can provide assistance to us.

When will this happen & Who will do the research?
This week, we will create a blog and a pitch based on the information we gather. Group A412 will collaboratively work on all the required assignments for this week. The schedule will be followed as per the provided timetable, with each group member dedicating approximately 8 hours per day to the task.

How to pitch?
It will be an interactive PowerPoint presentation where participants will receive questions. They can answer them using the Yes/No cards they will be given.

How to blog?
The blog will discuss the current state of the research. Furthermore, the researched data related to the theme will also be explained in the blog.
